Vision

5 Sing to God, sing praise to his name! Prepare the way for him who rides on the clouds; the Lord is his name. Sing to him with joy! 6 God is a defender of widows and a father to the fatherless in his holy habitation. 7 He makes a home for the lonely; he sets the captives free and gives peace. - Psalm 68:5-7

Mission

The non-profit organization La Grande has the mission toThe Foundation's mission is to create homes for widows and orphans at risk of homelessness in the democratic Republic of Congo. These homes are intended to be places of encounter and hope, supported by volunteers under the leadership of founder La Grande Mbamba. The Foundation La Grande is committed to supporting widows and orphans and giving them a valuable role in society. Since 2020, the Foundation has operated as a professional aid organization and cares for 12 orphans and 16 widows. La Grande Austria is the parent organization that strategically supports and accompanies the work in Congo.

Why is this important for the Fondation La Grande?

  • Urgent need for action: Many women and children live in extreme hardship – without legal protection or a social safety net.

  • Education and self-employment are key: literacy, craft training, and micro-project support provide hope and long-term prospects.

  • Targeted aid works: Programs like those of CDC/PEPFAR show that with structured support, orphans and vulnerable families can be stabilized.
